The San Francisco Foundation

preface

New Leadership, New Mission

Introducing a new boss – and an updated organizational mission – to Bay Area stakeholders can be a big lift. In 2015, The San Francisco Foundation (TSFF) did just that, with the strategic support of the Civic Edge team.

Resetting the Conversation

Civic Edge helped The San Francisco Foundation create a campaign called Voice, a five-county public engagement effort designed to introduce the foundation’s new CEO to the broader public, redefine the organization’s reach to extend beyond San Francisco, and gain a better understanding of community needs.

solution

Collecting Voices to Communicate Change

We helped TSFF create a brand identity for their campaign, develop a microsite to house information about public events, and most importantly, collect stories of people’s lived experiences. We tapped a diverse and broad audience, which included elected officials from various Bay Area cities and leaders of local community organizations and their constituents. This strategy work culminated in a series of five events that united sometimes disparate audiences during hugely successful, impactful, county-focused, half-day gatherings.
