Alia Al-Sharif is a communications and creative messaging professional who firmly believes that words have great power. She leads complex, multi-stakeholder community engagement campaigns and initiatives throughout the Bay Area.  Through her work, she is focused on understanding and deeply connecting to the needs of individuals and their communities and advocates to make space at the decision-making table for community-led ideas and solutions.  

Having spent a number of years living in the Middle East, Alia brings a global perspective to her work as a Partner at Civic Edge Consulting and is focused on leading across differences and with cultural competency. She has worked on numerous political campaigns and brings 15 years of coalition building experience and 8 years of project management experience to her work City agencies.

Alia studied Public Affairs as a graduate student at the University of San Francisco where she studied the exclusionary practices in the public and private sectors. She seeks to reverse those practices and make connections for meaningful community engagement and long-term partnerships.  

In her spare time, Alia enjoys soaking in the history, sights, and sounds of the Bay Area with her family, connecting to her Arab roots, and is actively involved in a handful of local organizations that promote access, equity, and thriving communities.
