Alia Al-Sharif (she/her) is a communications professional who recognizes that words have great power—they can propel projects forward or entirely derail them. She is proud to have led complex community engagement campaigns and initiatives throughout the Bay Area for the past ten years.
Through her work, she focuses on understanding what her clients and communities need for true collaboration. She’s an honest and highly skilled team manager who has found that meaningful engagement with long-term partnerships is the only path to creating lasting and positive change in our communities.
As a San Francisco resident with roots in the Middle East, Alia brings an inclusive and global perspective to her work at Civic Edge Consulting. She received her Master's in Public Affairs from the Leo T. McCarthy Center for Public Service and the Common Good and completed Northwestern University’s Racial Equity and Inclusion in Organizations training. Alia continues to participate in racial equity coaching and is trained in best practices for public participation, non-violent communications, and designing and facilitating meetings for equity. She has worked on numerous political campaigns and brings 20 years of coalition building experience and 11 years of project management experience to her work with city agencies.
In their spare time, Alia and her family find themselves completely absorbed in the Bay Area’s beauty, visiting their favorite parks, local businesses, and cafes as much as they can.
